Costa da Caparica

The Costa de Caparica is known for its beaches, which in recent years have been disappearing, mainly near the mouth of the river Tagus. For some years now the beaches have been disappearing on the coast of Caparica, notably the beaches near the mouth of the Tagus river, although this phenomenon has already spread to the southern beaches. Several measures of protection and replacement of the beaches were taken over the years as the creation of pontoons and more recently the seawall made along several beaches of the north coast and the replacement of sand on the beaches near the mouth of the river Tagus.

Some of the beaches that constitute the Costa da Caparica are: New beach, Castle Beach, Mermaid Beach, São João Beach, CDS Beach, Tile Fountain Beach, among others.

As a point of tourist interest, and always with a lot of affluence, is the convent of the Capuchos.
